Okea John, the Tororo District LC5 Chairman who has won a second term has blasted his main rival OBBO John for using stolen money to try to dislodge him from the district seat.

Speaking on Sunday during his thanksgiving ceremony at Morikiswa primary school in Kisoko sub county, West Budama North in Tororo District, Okea thanked the people of Tororo for overwhelmingly voting for him.

Okea(NRM) garnered about 140.000 while rival Obbo( independent) came second with about 40.000 votes.

" I want to thank all of you for turning up in large numbers today to join me thank God and celebrate this victory. I never wanted to say this during my campaigns. But today let me say it. My opponent OBBO John stole money while working for Tororo District farmers association and National Agricultural Advisory services(NAADS) as coordinator. He used this money to build a storied house( gorova) in water village in Tororo town. But because it was stolen money, the house was affected by the standard gauge railway project and it was razed down. He received a compensation of 950 million shillings. It's this money that you people ate during the campaigns. God says, money got in the wrong way, shall also disappear in a wrong way. I now hear he wants to go to Court to challenge my victory. I wonder with a margin of over 100.000 votes, what does this man want to challenge really' Okea added amidst ululations from the celebrants.

He acknowledged that OBBO managed to campaign in the entire district more than him pulling a lot of dust with support from several well-wishers fighting his leadership.

Okea promised to deliver to his best during this term and pledged total unity and team work with the technical team to ensure better service delivery.

The district chair praised the defence and veterans affairs minister Oboth Oboth for physically, financially and morally supporting him saying he owes him a lot.
