TORORO NRM LEADERSHIP LAUNCHES PARISH-PARISH MOBILISATION FOR FLAG BEARERS

Nyamulinde 'A' village, Nyemera Parish in Iyolwa sub county in West Budama South of Tororo District was on Wednesday afternoon painted 'yellow' as Tororo District NRM leadership officially launched the parish to parish vote hunt strategy for all the party flag bearers starting with President Yoweri Museveni.

Here, the 63 NRM leaders  per-zone fully  facilitated by the party are tasked with a responsibility of identifying and convincing between 3- 5 people to vote the President and all the Parliamentary flag bearers come January 15th/2026.

According to Owor Charles, the Tororo District NRM Spokesperson  who doubles as the District  coordinator for the office of the National Chairman,  this strategy if managed well  will  deliver a huge and landslide victory for all the flag bearers this time round including in areas where they didn't perform well in the last elections.

'i implore all the task force at all levels to rally support for the President and all the flag bearers. You will be facilitated to do the work . But we also need results. Am only disturbed that some of you here have joined hands with independent and opposition candidates to fail our official candidates. We are watching you' Owor warned.

' Let me take this opportunity to appeal to the people of Iyolwa especially the NRM members to stop the habit of ring-fencing their votes for a candidate from Iyolwa. This will take you nowhere. This time around, let us throw our support behind NRM flag bearer Okecho George from  Osia sub county so that the whole constituency could  feel the balance of leadership' he added.

However Okecho George, the area Parliamentary flag bearer told the people of Nyemera that they were blessed to have been identified to host the official launch of the campaign mobilisation drive saying they should reciprocate by voting over 85% for him and  President Museveni in the coming general elections.

Afande Okecho pleaded with the people of Iyolwa and the  rest of the constituency to  give him the opportunity to represent them in the next parliament arguing that they will never regret their vote.

He however appealed for  a peaceful campaign saying they are all one people who will still need each other even after these elections.

Owere Richard Machika, the Tororo District NRM Secretary told members that the only way to rip more big things from this government is to prove it by also voting highly for President Museveni and the flag bearers.

Machika who is also the NRM flag bearer for the West Budama North-East constituency affirmed that as Tororo this time round,  they have the capacity to deliver an extraordinary victory for NRM if they moved and worked as a team.

Akello Mary Gloria, the NRM District youth Chairperson Tororo rallied the youths to entrust President Museveni with leadership of this country  because he holds the key to their future.

Jacob Oboth Oboth, the Minister for defence and veterans affairs  asked the people of West Budama South to give Museveni over 90% in the next elections in appreciation for granting them Mulanda district.

Oboth who is also the NRM treasurer for Tororo brought smiles to the faces of the victims of the Alice lakwena insurgency when he announced that President Museveni has directed that all those who lost their properties must be compensated.

'It is true the President directed the Prime Minister and cabinet to look into this matter and have these people compensated. The President wanted to pay but the number was exaggerated. The verification was done though not concluded.this  issue  should be incorporated in the budget. Government is looking into several compensation options including giving the victims  cattle like its happening in Teso. The government is aware  that many people were affected by this war not only in Tororo but also  in many parts of Bukedi including areas of Palisa , Butebo among others. I only implore the victims to be patient' the Minister disclosed.
