Tororo Cement donates sporting kits to the Police.

 


As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and passion for sports, Tororo Cement limited has donated an assortment of sporting kits to the Tororo Police Football club.

The sports gear that included pairs of Jerseys and boots were officially handed over this afternoon by Wamale Lawrence,the  Assistant Marketing officer of Tororo cement Limited.

The newly posted District Police Commander Martin Karekyezi and Officer incharge the station Kelly Kaigwa received the gears on behalf of the police at the Tororo Police station.


 The new DPC saluted Tororo cement limited for their continued support to the force promising not to take such gestures for granted.

Karekyezi challenged his team to work hard, put the gears into proper use  by  excelling at the ongoing 5th Division tournament.


Tororo Police FC is currently the  best team in Tororo District and  on top of the table.

Okoth & Dr. Yokana Ogolla |  The Jopadhola were part of migrant groups of Luo people who moved from Bar-El-Ghazel in South Sudan and eventually pressed their way southwards through Teso and Kaberamaido till they reached Budama in present Tororo district around 1500. Adhola moved with his brother Owiny who led a group through Tororo to western Kenya .The group that remained in Tororo under Adhola later constituted the present Jopadhola ethnic group which developed a distinct social, political and economic system that survived and served as their identity, and later realized unity and harmonious interaction with the environment. Jopadhola are found in present day Tororo district. By the time they arrived, the area was a mere geographical expression with sparse population.
