Three Seal through unopposed for NRM flag bearers in Tororo county
Following the just concluded election of NRM party flag bearers for local Councils in the 2026 General elections, 2 setting Local Council Three chairman namely:-Mr. Ilukere Simon Peter of Kwapa Sub-County and Mr. Osinde Charles of Merikit Sub-County went through un-opposed While former Local Council Three Chairman for Osukuru Town Council Mr. Okanya John Paul was equally unopposed for NRM flag bearer Osukuru Town Council.

However, the NRM Party primaries held on the 24 July 2025 for Local Councils structures in Tororo County presided over by the NRM returning Officer for Tororo County Political District Mr. Erota Charles came equally with new and old players names. Those that faced voters and later declared winners include the following :-

Okoth & Dr. Yokana Ogolla |  The Jopadhola were part of migrant groups of Luo people who moved from Bar-El-Ghazel in South Sudan and eventually pressed their way southwards through Teso and Kaberamaido till they reached Budama in present Tororo district around 1500. Adhola moved with his brother Owiny who led a group through Tororo to western Kenya .The group that remained in Tororo under Adhola later constituted the present Jopadhola ethnic group which developed a distinct social, political and economic system that survived and served as their identity, and later realized unity and harmonious interaction with the environment.
