5 motorized boreholes to be drilled in Tororo by NWSC

National Water and Sewerage Corporation is considering drilling 5 motorized boreholes, In a bid to have stable water supply in Tororo.

Charles Epeet, the quality assurance officer National Water and Sewerage Corporation Tororo area, says the move is part of a strategy  the corporation is putting in place to ensure there is constant supply of water across the district.

Speaking during exclusive interviews, he said the purpose is to make sure that people have easy access to clean and safe water.

He said already feasibility study has been done and the corporation is at the final stages of securing a contractor that will undertake the entire construction works.

Drilling A borhole recently in Tororo Funded by Dr.Bishop Girado Ilukol of Pentecostal Outreach Ministries .

Engineer Epeet said the corporation considers putting up the facilities in selected areas where it has always faced challenges of pumping water due to low pressure.

He named the identified areas as Mukuju, Akadot, Mwelo, Nagongera and Nabuyoga.

Equally he said the corporation is also working towards stabilizing the network across the area of operation through the upgrade of the entire system.

Similar motorized boreholes have been done in Lugwara Quarters village in Wairasa Sub County, Mayuge district earlier last year [2024] by Water Aid Uganda and the government aims to provide every village in Uganda with a reliable water source by 2030.
