Charles Epeet, the quality assurance officer National Water and Sewerage
Corporation Tororo area, says the move is part of a strategy the corporation is putting in place to ensure
there is constant supply of water across the district.
Speaking during exclusive interviews, he said the purpose is to make sure
that people have easy access to clean and safe water.
He said already feasibility study has been done and the corporation is at
the final stages of securing a contractor that will undertake the entire
construction works.

Engineer Epeet said the
corporation considers putting up the facilities in selected areas where it has
always faced challenges of pumping water due to low pressure.
He named the
identified areas as Mukuju, Akadot, Mwelo, Nagongera and Nabuyoga.
Equally he said the
corporation is also working towards stabilizing the network across the area of
operation through the upgrade of the entire system.
Similar motorized
boreholes have been done in Lugwara Quarters village in Wairasa Sub
County, Mayuge district earlier last year [2024] by Water Aid Uganda and the government aims to
provide every village in Uganda with a reliable water source by 2030.
