Goat trader calls for help over unpaid supply during Idd celebrations
A goat trader in Tororo Municipality is calling for help after goats he supplied and were slaughtered for Muslims in Tororo district during Idd celebrations have not been paid for months.
Speaking to the media, the goat supplier who identified himself as Patrick Onyango said he was contacted by the Tororo Municipality MP Yeri Apollo Ofwono to supply goats and be paid later but since then the MP has not given him a penny. The legislator also doesn’t pick nor return his calls.
Onyango says the MP contacted him asking for 100 goats but he managed to get 43 from his colleagues with a promise that he would pay them after delivering the goats. However since then, Hon. Yeri has paid a deaf ear leaving the supplier perplexed as his colleagues are demanding for their money.
He says he is demanding 6,020,000/= from the Tororo Municipality MP.
The visibly stressed goat supplier says he has tried looking for help from different offices including that of the RDC, Police, LCV Chairperson but Hon Yeri is adamant.

Our efforts to get a comment from MP Yeri were futile as he did not pick our calls.
However sheik Noor Koire, the Tororo district Kadhi confirms receiving similar complaints many times from Onyango and his colleagues but unfortunately, Hon Yeri never pick nor returns his calls too. Sheik Koire further notes that money meant for the purchase of the goats was given to Yeri by Muslim donors. He wonders why the MP has not cleared the goat supplier for months. //Cue in: Koire on Goats …… Eng
