Kyagulanyi pledged good roads, jobs in Tororo.

National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu promised to prioritize infrastructure overhaul and job creation if he is elected in the 2026 General elections. Kyagulanyi who was on his campaign tour in Tororo district told his supporters at a rally in King George Memorial stadium that Uganda is endowed with resources which if properly utilized can be used to work on the roads but instead the money is lost through corruption. 

 He said under his government all roads that connect districts will be tarmacked citing Tororo-Nagongera-Busolwe Namutumba Road which he said has served as a looting ground for some people in government. 

 He said his government will also consider returning back clearing and forwarding business in Malaba other than making it is in Nakawa which he said will create jobs to the people.He said the aim is to create both direct and indirect jobs in entry border points. 


 He said as he grew up, Tororo district was known for cotton growing which the current government ignored because its interest in leading poor people but his government will revive.Kyagulanyi hailed the teachers for laying down their tooling but promised to work on their welfare including that of the security forces once elected the next president. He said in his government the lowest paid teacher will earn not less than one million shillings considering the workload they have.

He said he so touched to see children missing studies for one month and the head of state has He also assured his supporters that the new Uganda under NUP leadership will fix term limits for the president other than leaving it open adding that he will consider having a president running for only two terms. 

He expressed frustration over the deteriorating road network and what they described as a failing education system, which they say is no longer beneficial to their children. He also encouraged voters to resist state intimidation and to freely choose leaders who will genuinely represent their interests. “Do not be afraid. If you want better services, vote for candidates who stand for change,” he urged.
